Dear Spinster Friends,

13 Dec

Remember the glorious plan from last year? How much we couldn’t handle relationships, and never found anyone who could inspire true feeling in us anyway?  Remember we romanced about how that was “okay” because we had each other? We would live in a giant house together forever. When our children got older, they would roll their eyes at us in loving annoyance. We may have never found him, but we were together. Society’s rules and expectations were so far out the window… and our hearts were so safe from harm.

Now – remember the time when YOU BOTH found the loves of your life within a year and got married?!?! Silly girls. You are both spinster failures. I love it. I am so happy for you.  But my spinster house is going to be so cold…

Smooches and congratulations. I love to see you both smile so much.

Kelly

The beloved Spinsters and I...before they failed 😉

You tell them that if they were true friends…they would leave those husbands right now! 🙂

Haha. But they are just so stinkin’ happy and glowing. Who doesn’t love to see people like that? Besides, this particular spinster does really well alone 🙂

Oh, my love. I cannot wait for the day when you will undoubtedly meet the man of your dreams. He will be manly, funny, smart, sexy. He will carry heavy stuff for you and do things like change your oil, not because he can’t afford to take your car into the shop, but because he wants to be the one to take care of you and he truly enjoys it. And when you start pushing yourself too hard taking care of him and your beautiful yet energetic (to say the least) daughter, to the point where you are no longer taking care of yourself…he will stop you. Because you will be HIS first priority.

Now, I know that my premonition is very hard for you to believe because, well let’s face it Dear, upon hearing of your history with men, even Dr. Phil would quit his day job. However, you are such a dear friend to me for so many reasons. I know, without a doubt, that a good man will come along soon…even if you say you don’t want him! The problem for you has never been finding a man…just a good enough one.

I’m glad you are so picky. Otherwise, I’d have to hang out with a prick, narcissist, or lunatic on red wine night :/
